PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the air flow flowing into the inlet of an impeller from an intake at the intermediate stage of a multi-stage centrifugal compressor uniform along the whole circumference of the entrance. SOLUTION: An annular whole circumference intake chamber 33 is disposed in an inlet 16 of the intermediate stage impeller 23 inside a casing 10 of the multi-stage centrifugal compressor 1, and a gas supplied from the intake 31 at the intermediate stage is guided via an annular slit 35 into the inlet passage of the impeller. A flow guide 40 consisting of a separator board 41 and a pair of guide boards 43 is disposed adjacent to the intake 31 of the chamber 31. Both separator board 41 and guide boards 43 are made of flat boards. The separator board 41 includes the shaft center of the impeller rotation shaft 25 and is disposed on a flat plane passing the center of the intake 31. The guide boards 43 are disposed mirror-symmetrically to be expanded on both sides of the separator board toward the rotation shaft.
