PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a trouble that at assembly of a button type electrochemical cell, leakage of liquid, caused by a slight gap due to difference of coefficient of thermal expansion between a gasket made of plastic and a negative electrode can and a positive electrode can made of metal, is generated, even if caulking sealing is controlled precisely. SOLUTION: The button type electrochemical cell comprises a positive electrode can, a negative electrode can, a gasket clipped between the positive electrode can and the negative electrode can, a negative electrode terminal which has an area larger than the flat part of the negative electrode can and is jointed to the negative electrode, and a resin filled between the positive electrode can and the negative electrode can and the above negative electrode terminal so as to cover the gasket.
