The invention concerns a method and a device for eliminating dust from a gas stream and particularly submicronic particles. The method is based on the separation by centrifuging of the particles to be extracted from the treated gas stream, using their high difference in volume compared to air molecules, and on the destruction of these particles by pyrolisis, the separation being carried out in a helical conduit (1) with a plurality of spires (2) provided at its internal periphery with traps blocking the heavy particles and communicating each with a pyrolisis chamber (4) into which they are periodically sucked and where the combustible elements are destroyed and the incombustible elements are stored to be discharged during maintenance operations. The essential object is to set up in exposed urban zones air treating plants to eliminate therefrom the most dangerous and unpleasant pollutants.
