PURPOSE:To reduce the outside diameter of an insertion part and to enhance an ultrasonic transmission and reception sensitivity by juxtaposing an ultrasonic vibrator transducer for signal reception consisting of a high-polymer material and an ultrasonic vibrator transducer for signal transmission constituted of a ceramic material at the front end of the insertion part and inclining the sound axis of the vibrator transducer for signal transmission toward the vibrator transducer for signal reception. CONSTITUTION:The ultrasonic vibrator transducer 5 for signal transmission consisting of the ceramic material, such as PZT, is disposed on the front end side of a housing 7 disposed at the front end of the insertion part and the ultrasonic vibrator transducer 6 for signal reception consisting of the high-polymer material, such as PVDF, is disposed on the hand side. The ultrasonic vibrator transducers 5, 6 are juxtaposed in the insertion axis direction and further, the ultrasonic vibrator transducer 6 is so installed that its ultrasonic signal receiving surface faces the direction perpendicular to the insertion axis. The ultrasonic vibrator transducer 5 is so disposed that its sound axis has a slight inclination from the direction perpendicular to the insertion axis. The outside diameter of the insertion section is reduced in this way and the ultrasonic probe having the high signal transmission and reception sensitivity is obtd. |
