A charge for making refractory articles with a high deformation temperature, preferably for lining units for making quartz glass, contains , % by weight: as filling agent - ZrO2 with limit grain size less than 1.5 mm - 50-60; as finely milled component - non thermally treated ZrO2 with a content of particles with size of 2-4 mum not less than 95 % - 24.0-36.46; zirconium - 3-21; aluminium oxide - 0.5-4.0; temporary organic binding material - 0.04-1.0. The charge as grainy ZrO2 can contain sintered or electrically melted zircomium dioxide .
