An underfloor central heating system consists of a hot water flexible hose laid on the surface of a thermally insulated floor covering. The pipe (10) has longitudinal ribs and is secured to the layer of floor insulation by U-shaped fixtures. The inner face of the U-shaped clip has recesses (30) receiving the hose ribs (14). When fitted to the hose, the barbed (22) clip sides (20) are angled from the vertical, and are pushed by foot into the layer of insulation (40).
