Sieve for separating fibre and fibre containing material from mixture - using channel shaped sieves with progressively larger mesh making use of fibre property to form clouds during certain movement patterns

The sieves are in the form of channels (2) the mesh of which, in their side walls, is progressively larger along the length of the channels. The walls of the channels can be built-up from sections. The air, laden with the material to be sifted, is blown or sucked through the mesh. The property of the fibres to form themselves into clouds during certain movement patterns is used to effect separation. The required flow pattern is achieved by dividing the sieve wall into single throughflow sections and by correct guiding of the flow in the x- and y-directions.
