The invention relates to high-security environments in which smart cards are used and is designed to preclude the counterfeiting of smart cards and, as a result, to increase the level of security of said cards and of the environment in which they are used. The invention provides means for unequivocally binding passive security elements and active security elements of the type that generally comprise the aforementioned type of smart cards. In this way, the invention prevents the possibility of said passive and active security elements being exchanged without permission, thereby preventing identity spoofing. The inventive smart card comprises: verification elements (VE) which store data enabling the identification of the passive security elements (SP) of the card, and communication means which enable the exchange of data between the verification elements (VE) and the active security elements (AS) of the card.
