PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element with high light-taking-out efficiency. SOLUTION: A difference of an admittance of a light-taking-out part (L) consisting of a transparent substrate (A), a transparent conductive layer (B), and a hole transport layer (C), from a refraction index of a luminous layer (D) is controlled to be as small as possible. To be more precise, the light-taking-out part (L) and the luminous layer (D) are designed so as to make small a difference between the admittance of the light-taking-out part (L) and the refraction index of the luminous layer (D) in their real term as well as imaginary term.
