PURPOSE: A device for setting an ID equivalent to IR(Infrared Ray)/RF remote control transceivers and an ID setting method therefor are provided to automatically generate and set an ID included in a signal between IR/RF remote control transceivers, and to easily change the set ID, thereby preventing a signal collision and a wrong operation. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(310) receives an operational execution command for ID changing. An ID generator(320) generates a new ID according to the operational execution command. An ID storage(330) stores the generated ID, and sets the stored ID as a new ID for an IR/RF remote control transmitter. A transmitter(340) includes the generated ID in a transmission signal, and delivers the signal to an IR/RF remote control receiver.
