PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential gear type continuously variable transmission capable of continuously and variably changing a series of operation from stop to connection, capable of smoothly operating the connection, and capable of easily controlling the rotational frequency and the change gear ratio with a small-sized electric motor. SOLUTION: This differential gear type continuously variable transmission is provided with an input gear provided with an input shaft, an output gear provided with an output shaft, a differential gear device interposed between the input gear and the output gear to transmit the power, a worm gear mechanism formed of a worm wheel included in the differential gear device and a worm gear to be engaged with the worm wheel, and a control device including an electric motor for controlling the rotational brake of the differential gear device through the worm gear mechanism and an electric control device.
