<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set appropriate recording conditions by trial writing even if an optical information recording medium undergoing a change with lapse of time. <P>SOLUTION: By noticing that the pattern lining up with the shortest spaces right after the shortest mark is highest in sensitivity in order to set an optimum value, the first pattern not lining up with the shortest spaces right after the shortest mark and the second pattern including the pattern lining up with the shortest spaces right after the shortest mark are respectively trially written and the asymmetries A1 and A2 of the regions trially written with the respective patterns are measured and the irradiation power Pw at which the difference X (=A1-A2) of the asymmetries A1 and A2 attains -0.02≤X≤0.02 is set as the optimum recording conditions used in recording, as a result of which jitters are decreased to a permissible value ≤9% or below and the optimum recording parameter can be exactly set with good sensitivity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
