PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having high reliability and excellent display definition, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The display device of the present invention includes: a substrate 1; a thin film transistor 50 formed on the substrate 1; an inorganic insulating film (second insulating film 11) covering the drain electrode 9 of the thin film transistor 50, having a first contact hole 12 that reaches the drain electrode 9; a contact conductive film 13 that connects to the drain electrode 9 through the first contact hole 12, and that is formed so as to cover the whole bottom surface of at least the first contact hole 12; an organic insulating film (third insulating film 14) formed on the inorganic insulating film and the contact conductive film 13, having a second contact hole 15 that reaches the contact conductive film 13; and a pixel electrode 16 that is formed on the organic insulating film, and that connects to the contact conductive film 13 through the second contact hole 15.
