PURPOSE:To obtain a method for producing carbon fiber suitable for diversified small-quantity production in which time and economical losses are minimized and the carbon fiber having sizing agents, possessing various properties and applied thereto can efficiently be produced at the same time. CONSTITUTION:Carbon fibers (F) are divided with a yarn distributing device 2 and the divided fibers in a prescribed number are fed to respective sizing devices (1A), (1B) and (1C). Sizing agents (S) [(SA), (SB) and (SC)] housed in the respective sizing imparting devices (1A), (1B) and (1C) differ in their properties, i.e., the kind and concentration of the sizing agents. |
