<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To write information in a 2X recording medium for a BD in a prescribed writing shape and with the optimum power. <P>SOLUTION: A laser diode is driven with peak power and a current to drive the laser diode with peak power is lowered to the current of a level of off speed up in a first period of a period during which the laser diode is driven with cool power after driven with peak power to decrease light emitting output rapidly and clearly to the minimum power. Thereby, a recording region of the 2X recording medium for the BD is made in the prescribed writing shape to prevent protrusion from a recording track. Since delay of light emission of the laser diode is eliminated when the laser diode is next driven with peak power by performing control to return the current to a current level of off power in the rest period, information can be written with the optimum power without breaking a light emission waveform of the laser. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
