<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, an image processing method and an image display apparatus capable of producing a favorable image even when a digitized image is partially magnified or reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus expanding or reducing input image data for each area, comprises a high frequency component smoothing processor for generating smoothed high frequency component image data by smoothing high frequency components of the input image data; a partial magnification/reduction controller for generating partial magnification/reduction control information that designates pixel positions in image data obtained after expanding or reducing the input image data for each area; and a pixel data generator for generating pixel data in the pixel positions designated by the partial magnification/reduction control information in the smoothed high frequency component image data, using pixel data in a neighborhood of the designated pixel positions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
