The thermistor element (1) comprises a body (2), which includes a lower surface (2a), a first electrode (3), and a second electrode (4). The two electrodes are arranged facing each other on the lower surface and are resistively contact the lower surface. The first electrode and second electrode each comprise a contact layer (3a,4a) and an outer electrode layer (3b,4b). The outer electrode layer is directly or indirectly above the contact layer, and solely on the lower surface. The outer electrode layer comprises a metal material, consisting of Au, Ag, Pd, Pt, Sn, or an alloy of these metals.
