The seat (1) has a backrest (3) articulated on a base (2) by a pivoting connection (p1), and a rear connecting unit connecting the base to a structure of a motor vehicle in pivoting manner. The base is horizontal and supported by a front connecting unit and the backrest is vertical and supported by the rear connecting unit, in extended position. Interconnection units interconnect the rear and front connecting units for transmitting rotation of the rear connecting unit into rotation of the front connection unit in same direction.
