PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent of which the amount of dewatering when heated at a relatively low temperature is larger than that of already-known adsorbents in order to dissolve problems in the conventional technique and to provide an efficient heat pump system utilizing the same. SOLUTION: This adsorbent for heat pump comprises a zeolite adsorbent for heat pump in which the amount of dewatering of the adsorbent when heated from the moisture saturation adsorption state at room temperature up to 100 deg.C is >=6 wt.%, the amount of dewatering when heated up to 200 deg.C is >=19 wt.% and the difference in the amount of dewatering up to 100-200 deg.C is >=6 wt.%, and one kind or more of aluminosilicate zeolite in which 50% or more of the exchanged ions are one kind or more of ions selected from the group of proton, bivalent and trivalent cations. This adsorbent for heat pump and this heat pump system for heating and/or cooling which features using the adsorbent is described in claim 1, claim 2, and claim 3.
