<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation stop method of a fuel cell capable of effectively removing a non-reacted fuel remaining inside the fuel cell at the time of operation stop of the fuel cell and a fuel cell system utilizing this method. <P>SOLUTION: This is a method of stopping the operation of the fuel cell in the fuel cell system containing at least one fuel cell which generates electric energy by an electrochemical reaction of a gas fuel containing hydrogen and an oxidizer respectively supplied to an anode electrode and a cathode electrode of an electrolyte membrane of which on one side an anode electrode and on the rear side a cathode electrode are jointed. The operation stop method of the fuel cell includes a step in which an external load connected to the fuel cell is electrically separated according to an operation stop signal to the fuel cell, a step to stop supply of the gas fuel and the oxidizer, and a step in which a battery is electrically connected with identical polarity to an output terminal connected to the anode electrode and the cathode electrode of the fuel cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
