METHOD FOR PRODUCING DIELECTRIC PORCELAIN COMPOSITION, AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a dielectric porcelain composition which has a high dielectric constant and where a short circuit fraction defective is reduced even if a dielectric layer is thinned when used for dielectric layers in electronic components such as laminated ceramic capacitors and the like.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the dielectric porcelain composition which has a main component containing a dielectric oxide having the compositional formula denoted as (Ba1-xCax)m(Ti1-yZry)O3(wherein, 0.995≤m≤1.020; 0≤x≤0.15; and 0≤y≤1.00) and an additional auxiliary component except the main component is provided. The method has a step to obtain a dielectric raw material by mixing the raw material powder of the main component and the raw material powder of the additional auxiliary component and a step to fire the dielectric raw material. In the method, fine raw material powders having a specific surface area which satisfies a relationship such as (the specific surface area of the fine raw material powders/the specific surface area of the raw material powders of the main component ≥3) are used.
