An embedded system and a method thereof for restoring the damage of a file system of a memory by using a boot prom are provided to achieve high availability by recovering failure in an abnormal operation state. A boot prom stores a normal state check value for a CRC test. If the failure of a NOR flash memory is discovered through the failure detection performance, the boot prom performs the NOR flash memory recovery. If an embedded system is operated, a central processing unit(110) is set in order to jump to the boot prom. A storage(140) stores a recovery image for a flash memory in a normal state.
