PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isoindoline-based compound having high color density with high brightness, high fastness and useful as a coloring agent, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: There is provided an isoindoline-based compound represented by the general formula (1) and there is provided a method for manufacturing an isoindoline-based compound including reacting a specific pyrrolinone compound and a specific imino compound.
