PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump capable of maintaining the discharging ability for a longer period of time and improving the durability. SOLUTION: This fuel injection pump 10 includes a pump body 12, a fuel pressurizing chamber 15 formed within the pump body 12, and a plunger 17 for pressurizing fuel within the fuel pressurizing chamber 15. A barrel 13 is inserted into the pump body 12 and supports the plunger 17 to permit reciprocating motion. The barrel 13 is supported by an inner peripheral surface of the pump body 12 to permit reciprocating motion. A cylindrical portion 29 is screwed into the pump body 12 at the upper portion of the barrel 13. A rubber ring 26 is interposed in a clearance 27 between a lower end of the cylindrical portion 29 and an upper end of the barrel 13 and elastically supports the barrel 13.
