PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dichroic coating composition capable of developing dichroism exhibiting different colors even in a state not using a metal oxide- coated flame pigment, a multilayered bright pigment or the like, when a coating film is looked from the front side and from an oblique side to change an angle for looking the formed coating film, to provide a method for forming the coating film, and to provide a multilayered coating film obtained by the method. SOLUTION: This dichroic coating composition comprising an isoindolin-based pigment, a non-dichroic bright pigment and a vehicle, wherein the 20 degree glossiness of a coating film formed from the above coating excluding the non- dichroic bright pigment is >=80.
