PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer member which enables a reduction in package volume and the amount of disposal, ensures a sufficient buffer function, promotes repeated use, and offers an inexpensive packaging means. SOLUTION: A recession having a peripheral frame and a bottom is formed inside a thick, highly resilient urethane foam layer. In the recession, a profile made of a flexible material is so formed that projection tops of the profile are flush with the surface of the highly resilient urethane foam layer.
