PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a part holding device loading or unloading a part. SOLUTION: This device includes a hand plate 27 provided turnably on an arm of a robot, a pair of holders 21 which are provided movably so as to mutually get near to or separate from the hand plate 27 to hold or unload a part L and whose opposed surfaces are each provided with a holding groove 21a letting in and supporting an end part of the part L, and a pad provided in the holding groove 21a to be energized so as to come into contact with the end part of the part L. In this way, impact is absorbed by the pad and an elastic member when the part L is held, so that the part L can be moved in a stable state by preventing its damage and breakage, even if the part L is not accurately held.
