<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet protective agent which inhibits or mitigates the inflammation of an acute disorder of skin caused by ultraviolet rays. <P>SOLUTION: This ultraviolet protective agent includes one or more extracts of the plants selected from the plants belonging to the Leguminosae and the Hippocastanaceae families. As the Leguminosae family, Glycine max M. and Astragalus sinicus L. are preferred and as the Hippocastanaceae family, Aesculus hippocastanum L. is preferred.
