摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost transition metal nitride excellent in corrosion resistance with low contact resistance generated between the separator and the electrodes, as well as a fuel cell separator, fuel cell stack, and a fuel cell vehicle.

SOLUTION: The fuel cell separator 3 is obtained by applying nitriding treatment on the surface 10a of a base material 10 made of stainless steel containing an element selected from among Fe, Cr, Ni and Si, and is provided with a nitriding layer 11 containing an oxide of Si formed in a depth direction from the surface 10a of the base material 10.
