A liquid crystal display device is provided to prevent the light leakage of a light receiving hole of an outer black matrix. A first substrate(100) includes an optical sensor element(8) formed in the outer edge of a first insulating substrate(110). A light receiving hole(225) exposes the optical sensor element. A second substrate(200) includes the outer edge black matrix(220) formed along the outer edge of the second insulating substrate(210). A liquid crystal layer(300) is positioned between the first substrate and the second substrate. A first polarizer(310) is adhered to an external side of the first substrate. A second polarizer(320) is adhered to an external side of the second substrate. The liquid crystal layer on the optical sensor element is provided in order to indicate the black screen.
