A heterocyclic compound useful as an antiallergic agent is provided.;A compound represented by the following formula (1) or a salt thereof:;wherein the ring A is a homocyclic or heterocyclic ring; the ring B is a heterocyclic ring which contains G and nitrogen atom N as constituent atoms thereof, wherein G is CH or N; R1 is a carbonyl group or an alkylene group; R2a and R2b are an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group, or a heterocyclic group; X is an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; Z is a hydroxyl group, an alkoxy group, a cycloalkyloxy group, an aryloxy group, an aralkyloxy group, an amino group, or an N-substituted amino group; and n is 0 or 1; with the proviso that when the ring A is a benzene ring or when the ring B is a piperazine ring, R1 is an alkylene group which may have a substituent.

A heterocyclic compound represented by the following formula (1b): the ring C1 and the ring C2 are the same or different and each represent a C6-10arene ring or an aromatic 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring; and R4a and R4b are the same or different and each represent a substituent selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a straight chain or branched chain C1-4alkyl group, a straight chain or branched chain haloC1-4alkyl group, a straight chain or branched chain C1-4alkoxy group, and a straight chain or branched chain haloC1-4alkoxy group; in the ring C1 and the ring C2, R4a and R4b may be the same or different in species from each other; R4a and R4b may bond together to form the ring C3, wherein the ring C3 may have a substituent such as the above-mentioned halogen atom; Z represents a hydroxyl group, an alkoxy group, a cycloalkyloxy group, an aryloxy group, an aralkyloxy group, an amino group, or an N-substituted amino group; the position of the group —C(O)—Z is a 2- or 4-position of the pyridine ring relative to a nitrogen atom N constituting the ring A in a counterclockwise direction; and wherein p is 1 or 2; n is 1 when G is CH; n is 0 when G is N; ora salt thereof.
