Disclosed is a liquid crystal display (LCD) device capable of improving brightness without separately adding a white pixel. According to the present invention, the LCD device which includes a first color pixel area, a second color pixel area, and a third color pixel area, wherein each of the pixel areas includes a first sub-pixel area and a second sub-pixel area, includes: a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other; a first color filter arranged in the first sub-pixel area of the first color pixel area, a second color filter arranged in the first sub-pixel area of the second color pixel area, and a third color filter arranged in the first sub-pixel area of the third color pixel area, wherein the first to third color filters are positioned on the first substrate or the second substrate; the first color filter and a white color filter arranged in the second sub-pixel area of the first color pixel area, the second color filter and a white color filter arranged in the second sub-pixel area of the second color pixel area, and the third color filter and a white color filter arranged in the second sub-pixel area of the third color pixel area, wherein the first to third color filters and the white color filters are positioned on the first substrate or the second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer positioned between the first substrate and the second substrate. In the second sub-pixel area, the white color filters surround the first color filter, the second color filter, and the third color filter, respectively. |
