The specification discloses a lock structure (10) having a bolt member (11) movably mounted linearly within a bolt member housing (12) between an extended latching or locking position and a withdrawn non latching or locking position, the lock structure (10) including a key actuated tubular lock barrel (14) having an actuator member (22) movable rotationally in response to operation of the tubular lock barrel (14), the actuator member (22) engaging a cam part (31) of the bolt member (11) to drive the bolt member (11) between the locking / latching position and the non locking / latching position, the cam part (31) being restrained to move relative to the bolt member (11) towards and away from the actuator member (22), the cam part (31) also being urged by spring means (26) to move towards said actuator member (22), and the cam part (31) also being restrained by guide means (38) formed with the ball member housing (12) to move relative to the bolt member (11) within predefined limits, the lock structure (10) further including mounting means (16) operationally mounting the tubular lock barrel (14) to the bolt member housing (12) with the actuator member (22) operationally engaging the cam part (31).
