MAGNETIC RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To automatically load/unload a tape cartridge and to surely fix and hold the tape cartridge, as to a magnetic recording/reproducing device for recording/reproducing data by use of the tape cartridge. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a loading mechanism 34 for thoroughly loading the tape cartridge in a main body 32 by moving a tray 33 with the tape cartridge held and pulling out the tray 33 to a cartridge inserting position at the time of ejecting the cartridge. The device is provided with hooks 35a and 35b which are engaged with the locking groove of the tape cartridge so as to fix the cartridge when the tape cartridge is loaded, and also for releasing the engaged state with the locking groove at the time of ejecting. The device is also provided with a cartridge holding force generating mechanism 50 for generating a force for pressing the tape cartridge against an inserting direction while keeping the tape cartridge in a loaded state.
