<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain metadata from an Internet radio station in a bandwidth-efficient manner. <P>SOLUTION: A client 104 connects to an Internet radio server 102 to receive a data stream corresponding to the Internet radio station. Metadata is received on the data stream of the Internet radio station. In some cases, media data is also received on the data stream of the Internet radio station.
