PURPOSE: A multimedia content file management system using generic information and a method thereof are provided to monitor multimedia files with copyrights which are illegally uploaded on a web. CONSTITUTION: A gene generating module(11) downloads a multimedia file uploaded to a multimedia contents file service server(10). The gene generating module generates genetic information of the multimedia file. The gene generating module combines the genetic information with the multimedia file. A contents monitoring server(20) extracts the generic information combined with the multimedia file. The contents monitoring server compares the extracted generic information with pre-stored generic information.
