摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide digital intensity control for reducing sensitivity of optical fiber gyroscope to vibration and radiation effects, without having to narrow the bandwidth of a sensor. SOLUTION: The interference optical fiber gyroscope 200 includes an optical part for supplying light signal 102, a photodetector 206 for converting the light signal into a photodetector output signal 217, and an electronic circuit part 207 for supplying a gyro output 260, based on the photodetector output signal. The electronic circuit part quantizes the photodetector output signal, to form a digitized representation of light signal, determines an intensity control value 245 based on the above digitalized representation of light signal, and then adjusts the photodetector output signal based on the above value to form adjusted photodetector output signal. In addition, the circuit part digitally reproduces the digitized representation of light signal as a function of the adjusted photodetector output signal and the intensity control value, and applies demodulation technique to remove intensity sensitivity from the reproduced signal, while maintaining sensitivity with respect to the rotational speed.
