PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming technology allowing reduction of occurrence of abnormality accompanying an error during data transfer. SOLUTION: An ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) 11 has an HDC 13 controlling an HDD (Hard Disk Drive) 14 storing data, and the HDC 13 has a command DMAC 13a, a data DMAC 13b, and a retry register 13c. The command DMAC 13a transfers a command to the HDD 14 by a DMA (Direct Memory Access) system. The data DMAC 13b performs transmission/reception of the data to the HDD 14 by the DMA system. The retry register 13c is a register for specifying a transfer place of the data when occurrence of the error of the data transfer. When the error occurs during the transfer of the data to an engine part 3 from the HDD 14 through the command DMAC 13a and the data DMAC 13b, a CPU (Central Processing Unit) 10 resets the command DMAC 13a and the data DMAC 13b by use of the retry register 13c, and retries the transfer of the data.
