The circuit arrangement includes a coupling between a passive component in the input circuit (12) and an active component in the output circuit (13). The active component is designed to influence the electrical characteristics of the passive component when the output level varies. The result of the influence on the passive component is a variation in the input level. The circuit has a hands-free communications unit (36), a microphone (23) and a loudspeaker (24). The microphone is connected to the input circuit and the loudspeaker to the output circuit.
