Traffic control between a base station and a radio network controller

Method for controlling traffic over an interface (1;21) between a base station (2;20) and a radio network controller (3;22) of a radiocommunication system, the base station being arranged for receiving information from terminals (4;15-17) over radio channels and for forwarding said information to the radio network controller over said interface through at least one buffer (14) having a limited size. According to the method, a level of traffic on said interface is estimated and the quantity of information forwarded to the radio network controller over said interface is varied according to the traffic level estimate.
