Provided are a composite polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device. The composite polarizing plate includes an absorption type polarizing plate, a reflection type polarizing plate, a blue ray transmission preventing layer which prevents the transmission of a blue ray in a wavelength range of 380-500nm. The blue ray transmission preventing layer has an average transmittance of 90% or more in a wavelength range of 500-780nm and also average transmittance of 80% or more in the wavelength range of 380-500nm. So, contrast can be improved. |
