摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode material with high capacity, high initial charge/discharge efficiency, and excellent cycle characteristics, as well as a secondary battery equipped with the anode material. <P>SOLUTION: Of the anode material, a material used for an anode of a rechargeable nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery equipped with a cathode for doping and dedoping lithium ions, nonaqueous electrolyte solution, and the anode, an anode active material consists of one or more kinds of Li-absorbing particles and one or more kinds of graphite particles of 40 wt.% or more. As to the graphite particles, a (002) face interval d (002) by the X-ray diffraction method is 0.3354 nm or more and 0.338 nm or less, and an area ratio of a G peak to a D peak by the Raman spectrometry is G/D&ge;9, and the Li-absorbing particles contain at least one out of composite particles of silicon and iron, silicon and titanium, or silicon and nickel.
