ELECTRONIC KEY SYSTEM

An electronic key system (1) includes electronic keys (3) and a device (2) to which the electronic keys (3) are registered. The device (2) transmits a call signal, and when receiving a response signal transmitted from at least one of the electronic keys (3) that has received the call signal, the device (2) is configured to analyze the received response signal, identify the at least one of the electronic keys (3) that transmitted the response signal, and enable operation of the device (2) with the identified at least one of the electronic keys (3). The response signal of each of the electronic keys (3) includes, from a code position for a particular code, code positions that are temporally non-overlapped with one another. The code positions include identification code positions, to which identification codes of the electronic keys (3) are assigned, and fixed code positions, to which fixed codes are assigned. Each of the electronic keys (3) transmits an identification code at an identification code position that is assigned a corresponding identification code and does not transmit a code at an identification code position assigned an identification code of another electronic key (3).
