<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quenching method of a ring-shaped article, wherein thermal deformation due to the quenching treatment can be corrected during quenching treatment, and this thermal deformation-correction is applied without taking a cost and time, and is applied to the ring-shaped articles of various sizes and further, efficient heating to the quenching temperature is performed and this heating facility is allowed to be compact. <P>SOLUTION: This quenching method of the ring-shaped article includes a heating step S1, a primary cooling step S2 and a secondary cooling step S3. In the heating step S1, the ring-shaped article W is heated to the quenching temperature with an induction-heating. In the primary cooling step S2, the ring-shaped article W is cooled to the deformation-correcting starting temperature higher than martensitic transformation point temperature. In the secondary cooling step S3, the ring-shaped article W is cooled to the temperature lower than the martensitic transformation point temperature. At this time, one pair of receiving rolls 3 are freely rotatably brought into contact with one side of the outer circumferential surface of the ring-shaped article, so as to press a rotated press roll 4 rotating from the reverse side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
