An occupant restraint device in which the pressure in a bag can be kept high. The bag (12) has, on its opposite left and right end sides, fixation sections (12a, 12a) for fixing the bag (12) to a seat pan (8). Between the fixation sections (12a, 12a) is formed an empty chamber (15) into which gas is introduced from an inflator (13) to inflate it. The bag (12) is formed by superposing an upper panel (16) and a lower panel (17), bonding their peripheral edges to each other with an elastic adhesive (19), and sewing them into a bag form. The upper and lower panels (16, 17) form the upper half and the lower half, respectively, of the outer surface of the air bag (12) inflated. The elastic adhesive agent (19) has an elongation of 200% or greater, or for example, 200 - 400%. |
