Power storage system (2) includes battery (150) containing an electrolytic solution, and ECU (300) that controls permission and prohibition of charge/discharge of battery (150) based on inside temperature (Ti) of battery (150). ECU (300) sets determination temperature (T1) equal to or higher than freezing point (Tf) of the electrolytic solution and determination temperature (T2) higher than determination temperature (T1). ECU (300) prohibits charge/discharge of battery (150) when inside temperature (Ti) falls below determination temperature (T1) while the electrolytic solution is in a liquid state, and cancels the prohibition of charge/discharge of battery (150) when the electrolytic solution turns into the liquid state from a state in which the electrolytic solution is at least partially solidified, and when the temperature of battery (150) exceeds determination temperature (T2). |
