Provided in the present invention is a novel method for manufacturing high-purity gadobutrol. The manufacturing method of the present invention can manage the purity of an intermediate with a simple and mild process, and can be easily applied to the mass production by obtaining gadobutrol having the high purity or the extra high purity higher than the existing purity. The manufacturing method of gadobutrol comprises the steps of: manufacturing a compound represented by chemical formula 2 or a compound represented by chemical formula 3; manufacturing a compound represented by chemical formula 4; and manufacturing a compound represented by chemical formula 1.
