A system for manoeuvring and braking of a ship, comprising a roll stabilization fin system (1) placed at the ship's sides, and a bow rudder system (2). The roll stabilization fins system (1) comprises a fin (3) attached to a transmission unit (5), connected to an actuator (6). The actuator (6) is connected to a fin control unit (8) in the stabilization mode. It is also connected to an amplifying unit (10), and both (8 and 10) are connected to a stop mode fin control unit (11). The bow rudder gear (2) has a unit for operating the bow rudder in a stop mode, and a bow rudder position indicator. The fins and the bow rudder are rotated through 90 DEG .
