A permanent magnet synchronous motor according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a stator, a first winding connected to the stator, and a second winding connected to the stator. The permanent magnet synchronous motor according to the embodiment of the present invention has a simple structure enabling precise torque control, In addition, the permanent magnet synchronous motor not only operates at variable speeds with a simpler circuit compared with existing single-phase and two-phase synchronous motor systems since it has the shorted second winding, but also produces a larger torque.
