PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage collecting and treating method, capable of eliminating the transfer of garbage and of reducing the stop time for a truck vehicle at a garbage treatment place by using a container for garbage collection and garbage treatment. SOLUTION: (1) A garbage collecting and treating device 2 is loaded onto a truck vehicle 1, which goes round garbage generating facilities to accommodate garbage in a garbage collection container 3 of the garbage collecting device 2 and carries it back to a garbage treatment place. (2) The garbage collecting and treating device 2 is unloaded from the truck vehicle, a stirring mechanism 4 of the garbage collecting and treating device 2 is driven by an actuator 5 for stirring and outside air is circulated into the garbage collection container 3 by a ventilation means 6, the collected garbage is decomposed by the decomposing action of aerobic bacteria while accommodating it in the garbage collection container 3, and the decomposed garbage is discharged as an organic fertilizer. (3) The truck vehicle which has unloaded the garbage collecting and treating device 2 loads another garbage collecting and treating device 2 and repeats the cycle of (1) and (2).
